Vice President on Friday paid an on-the-spot assessment visit to the in Kuru, Plateau State, following the recent gunmen attack on the institution.
Shettima, accompanied by and other senior government officials, was received by the Director-General of NIPSS, , alongside members of the institute’s management team.
The visit comes days after armed assailants attacked the nation’s foremost policy and strategic studies institution, resulting in the deaths of three security operatives and raising concerns over security around the facility.
During the visit, the Vice President inspected key facilities and received briefings on the institute’s operations, security architecture and ongoing strategic programmes.
Security agencies have since arrested several suspects in connection with the attack, while additional measures have been put in place to strengthen security within and around the institution to prevent future incidents.
The visit underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to assessing the situation firsthand, reassuring staff and stakeholders, and supporting efforts to safeguard critical national institutions.
Investigations into the attack remain ongoing, with authorities intensifying efforts to apprehend all those responsible and ensure they are brought to justice.
