Rivers Governor Fubara Appoints 6 New Permanent Secretaries

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has approved the appointment of six new Permanent Secretaries into the Rivers State Civil Service, as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s public service administration.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued by the Rivers State Head of Service, Dr. Inyingi S. I. Brown, on Wednesday.

According to the statement, those appointed as Permanent Secretaries are Mr. Freddy Ndigbara, Mrs. Fortune Akpila, Dr. Promise Oguzie, Mrs. Ibisoye Lolomari Nwankwo, Mrs. Ibiyemiebara Joseph Uzoma, and Mrs. Mercy Dagogo Iboroma, The News Edition reports.

Dr. Brown disclosed that the newly appointed officials are scheduled to be sworn into office by Governor Fubara on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to take place at 12:00 noon in the State Executive Council Chambers.

“The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are to be seated by 12 noon on Wednesday, 29th July, 2026, and will be sworn in by His Excellency, the Governor of Rivers State, in the State Executive Council Chambers,” the statement read.

The appointments are expected to bolster the administrative capacity of the Rivers State Civil Service and support the government’s ongoing governance and public service initiatives.
