Osun Accord Accuses MC Oluomo, APC of Plot to Take Over Motor Parks

The Accord Party in Osun State has accused the factional National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, and some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to take over motor parks across the state.

The party alleged that the purported plan could trigger fresh violence and further disrupt peace within Osun’s transport sector, The News Edition reports.

In a statement issued on Sunday, September 20, the state chairman of Accord, Pastor Victor Akande, said reports from various motor parks allegedly identified MC Oluomo as being behind the plan, purportedly working through Kazeem Oyewale, popularly known as Asiri Eniba.

Akande further alleged that MC Oluomo had issued a new leadership certificate to Oyewale despite the alleged continuation of the tenure of the existing NURTW executive.

According to the party, the alleged move was intended to encourage activities that could undermine the state government’s plan to establish a Park Management System across motor parks.

The allegations come amid an ongoing dispute over the leadership and control of NURTW operations in Osun. Governor Ademola Adeleke recently suspended NURTW activities in the state’s motor parks and directed rival factions to vacate the facilities following renewed tensions within the union.

Accord said it supported the governor’s decision and the planned Park Management System, describing the measure as necessary to prevent further clashes between rival NURTW factions.

The party also linked the government’s action to the recent killing of Accord chieftain Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ajagungbade Emir, during a dispute connected to a motor park in Ile-Ife.

Accord called on the Presidency and the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, to intervene in the matter and urged security agencies to enforce the directive for all NURTW factions to stay away from the motor parks.

The party also appealed to security agencies to secure the parks against any attempt by rival groups to take control of the facilities and prevent further violence.

The allegations against MC Oluomo and the Osun APC have not been independently established, and the reports reviewed did not contain a response from either party to the accusations.
